Laura Linney, best known for her strong but vulnerable characters, is one of the most celebrated American actors of our times. Her father was a celebrated writer, however Linney was raised as an only child by a single mom, a nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theatre. Her first stage experience was first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. After two years of her graduation, she launched her Broadway career. Two years later, she was on television. Since then, she has performed in many films and stage and TV productions. Throughout her career, she's won many awards, which includes 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Despite her numerous awards, she still loves theatre and has appeared on stage and screen.
