Jennifer Garner, who was born in and raised in Charleston West Virginia, on April 17th, 1973 is from Houston, Texas. William John Garner worked as an chemist at Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local college. Wanting to follow in her father's footsteps, she graduated with an engineering degree in chemical technology. So that she could fulfill her desire to be an actress, she moved in New York. She worked at a restaurant while appearing in Broadway shows. In the TV series "Felicity," she had one brief appearance. (It was on the show that she met the man she married, Scott Foley. Her breakthrough came in the action thriller "Alias." Garner's first leading role was the widely praised romantic comedy "13 Going on 30." The film starred her as a teenager who found herself stuck in the body of an older woman of 30. Garner picked Gary Winick to direct the film; they were looking at other projects until Winick's passing away in the year 2011. Garner was awarded the title the artist ambassador in 2009 by Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promotion of national literacy and nutrition, as well as early education, and many various other aspects. Garner has been on this board since the year 2014.
