April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and taking piano lessons, sparking her interest in music writing. At the age of 12 April composed her first single Different. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time to making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. In the following months, she started taking writing trips together with her dad to LA in addition to NY. April began also to incorporate different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with such things as bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large following. Lockhart was never born with a left-hand, which is what makes her what she is. However, that's not the full story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her being disabled and does not concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What message is it trying to convey? It's this that we all share many identities, we're more complex than we think we're. I don't want that to be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer in which I only discuss because there are other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. It doesn't impact my day-to-day routine. I continue to do the normal things and I've adapted to my disability. It's a big element of my life so it is important to discuss the subject. Lockhart is a huge source of inspiration for her female friends regarding acceptance of oneself. However, she acknowledges going through periods of being uncomfortable with her body at times not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes which showed how much of her body. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social media. She says that self-love is a process. It's not clear when you'll reach the end. It's the same for everybody regardless of the level of insecurity. The people around you with, who know you and see inside your soul are the most important people to help you remember what you're worrying about.
