Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. Her first competitive event was the national junior championships in which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, Comaneci was crowned champion. In her very first international contest in 1972, she came out on top with three gold medals. When she competed for the first time in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well with one silver. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto to dismount from the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. Together with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her journey into the entertainment industry in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice by actors.
