The actress is well-known on Canadian and American television. Emily's love for acting first began in the year 12, she went to visit her sister Katie who was making a film with Katie. As Emily discovered her passion for acting, she began acting classes and attended auditions. Her first audition was for a couple of ads, and was soon cast in Are You afraid of the Dark, a Canadian horror film for children. She was only seen in one scene with no dialogue. The WB television show Glory Days, she received her first break in the industry at age 15. Emily's talents attracted the attention of Greg Berlanti when the show was canceled after only nine episodes. He cast Emily in Everwood, his new TV show.
